Idol Edge in Los Angeles

Fox's biggest show is American Idol and because we compete with primetime content on network and cable, we rely on those viewers to stick around after Idol ends for a few minutes to see even more coverage of the hit show. Our hope is that those viewers will stay past the first 5 minutes, watch our entire show, and then come back the next night to catch it again.

Because of our extensive American Idol coverage, I was sent to Los Angeles to cover the finale. While there, I constantly interacted with our Facebook fans with the latest information, but I was also continually posting exclusive website material and directing our Facebook fans to our website. A company's Facebook page and a company's website can be used to feed each other. If you write a short tease on your fan page, you can direct fans to your website which can then drive up numbers.
