Along with my web duties, I'm also responsible for interacting with our Facebook fans. Throughout the day, I constantly ask questions to gauge viewers' interests in stories.
These questions are sometimes thought provoking: "Following Rep. Anthony Weiner's Tweeting relationship, do you think it's cheating to have a relationship over Twitter or texting?"
Other times I'll ask questions less important questions: "Oreo is releasing a new cookie with three layers of cookie, one layer of vanilla, and one layer of chocolate. Would you buy the 'Triple-Double Oreo'?"
Both questions garnered a lot of attention from our fans and I used the responses we got from both to interact with our viewers live, on air. Beyond that, we could look at the insights that Facebook provides to get an idea who our viewers and fans are. These can be key for other businesses, like theaters, to see who is interested in coming to the show and who wants to know the latest information. Facebook is beyond a social networking site, it's the place to go for the latest information.
